Lithium thionyl chloride (Li / SOCI2) bobbin-type cells feature a simple and sealed construction, very low self-discharge rate and over 10 years of service life, and are particularly suitable for low current applications. Designed for applications requiring low background current and high current impulses, the Pulses Plus battery integrates the inherent characteristics of bobbin-type Li / SOCI2 cells and sealed hybrid layer capacitors (HLCs). This new battery technology delivers pulses up to several amperes in voltage range from 3.9V to 3.0V. For example, the space-saving Pulses Plus "AA" type battery has pulses comparable to spiral wound "C" and "D" type batteries.


   
 Pulses Plus battery technology has the following advantages over spiral wound lithium dioxide and lithium manganese dioxide batteries: higher energy density; higher and stable operating voltage (3.6V / 3.9V); high pulse current performance; (-40 ° C to 85 ° C); laser welded seals and glass-to-metal seals; outstanding storage performance (up to 10 years); very low self-discharge rate (less than 1.5% per year); wide operating temperature range ).
    
These features make the Pulses Plus battery ideal for long-term standby and high current pulse applications, including automatic meter reading (AMR) devices, GPS / GSM / ARGOS related systems, automotive devices, remote sensors, emergency equipment and military applications. . It should be noted that it does not apply to applications that require a continuous high discharge current.
