The negative electrode of the Li-SOCl2 battery is lithium metal (Li), the internal positive electrode active material and the electrolyte solvent are thionyl chloride (SOCl2), which has the highest specific capacity and specific energy in all practically usable chemical power sources , is widely used as a new energy system in many modern electronic devices.
